The CS Lewis Scholar ProgramThe CS Lewis Scholar Program helps students complete writing projects to help build their academic portfolio. The curriculum helps students identify various topic areas within the curriculum.
Students are provided with four different Writing Essay Topics for CS Lewis, which includes 'The Flight of the Raven', 'Mere Christianity', 'Black Is Beautiful'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. Students need to choose at least one of these topics from each section in order to earn a CS Lewis Scholar Badge. Students should not hesitate to explore the opportunities available when it comes to theses.
The Writing Essay Topic for 'The Flight of the Raven' is written as an essay, essay about each word of which must contain one or more long term quotations. The topic should be a semi-fictionalized account of a man's reaction to the apocalypse. Students should write a two page paper on the topic. They may need to study films or watch documentaries and talk to other students about their reactions to the topic and how they felt when the topic occurred in their lives.
In the topic for 'Mere Christianity', students should write two essays, each having a similar writing style and the same text but different essay topics. For each of the two essays, students must provide at least one short term quotation. Students should not include quotations from literature that they have studied before in their essay topics.
The Essay Topic for 'Black Is Beautiful' focuses on the characters who arrive in White Mountains with the seven dwarfs. The essay should include a different essay topic for each of the seven dwarfs, focusing on each dwarf's interaction with characters. This essay topics may include specific scenes or passages of the story, or it may even require students to discuss individual dwarfs.
Writing Essay Topics include several essay formats, including some that allow you to choose the length of your essay. Students should be able to use any format that they find easier to read and to compose their ideas. It is recommended that students at least go through and read what is written in each essay format.
Students may also use the resources available to them, including student handouts, to help them in completing their essays. Some of the Writing Essay Topics include the essay topic 'Early Childhood Education', which involves 'Reading and Writing: (a) Children and the Development of Reading Skills; (b) Children and Learners; (c) Teaching Children, and (d) Teaching and Learning.' A two page essay on this topic includes the topic 'The Development of Elementary Writing and Language Skills'.
Students will work with a combination of topics and essay writing formats as they work through the program. Writing Essay Topics can be completed by students from beginner to advanced level. The more difficult assignments are usually offered as essays, and they require students to deliver the final output to satisfy the requirements for the CS Lewis Scholar Program.
